Friday 22nd March
Oaktree School
Grandparent's Festival
This is a very special occasion that happens every Easter at Oaktree School. Instead of parents, Grandparents (or Aunties or Uncles) are invited to a special assembly and to visit their grandchildren in their classrooms.
The children sang songs, said poems and shared their memories of things they had done with their grandparents. Then the grandparents had tea and coffee and visited the classrooms.
It was too far for Great Aunt Isobella to come from Peru, but I made friends with Christina's, Owen's, Charlotte's and Felix's grandparents and I even lent Thomas's Grandad my hat!
